The temperatures rose into the 90s again today with a high temperature of 94F, the low temperature was 68F when I first left Cheney, Washington. This area has been in a heat wave for a few weeks now, explaining a great deal why all the haziness. The weather is just something one cannot predict or control. The planned route today included traversing Route 20 through the Cascades Mountain Range. At Okanogan, Washington this plan vanished as I was informed that Route 20 was closed near Winthrop, Washington due to a mudslide. The trip already planned for over 300 miles just added an additional 100 miles. As a result three gasoline purchases were made, $3.889/gallon, and twice at $3.799. I did enjoy the exhibits at the Visitor Center at Grand Coulee, one in particular. It seems that in 1941 in order to promote public power, the Bonneville Power Administration gave folk singer Woody Guthrie $266.66 to write songs about the value of public power in the Pacific Northwest. He wrote a total of 26 songs in a month's time period or $10 a song. I think I remember that Bill Gates paid the Rolling Stones $2 million for the license the song "Start me Up" for use in television advertisements. Times sure have changed.
I plan on relaxing most of the day tomorrow, maybe taking a short trip to Anacortes.
Keep cool folks!

Sounds like a case of 'mudslide slim and the blue horizon' to me. Obviously JT had you in mind when he wrote that one. :-)
